Problems calibrating TPMS
I just put my 18" summer tires back on the SS today and was looking forward to not getting the "check tire pressure" warning message coming up on the dash... (I don't have the TPMS sensors on my 16" Blizzak tires) But when I went to calibrate the sensors to their new postions (as I rotated the tires to new positions) I can't get it to work. Never had problems doing this before.
It initiates just fine, 2 beeps of the horn and the drivers front signal light up. But when I let the air out of that tire it doesn't sense it apparently. All the way down to 8 PSI even! Eventually after about two minutes or so it just beeps and goes off the sequence. Have tried 3 times with same result. Tried airing it up once also during this with no luck. Any thoughts on what causes this?
It seems to be reading all 4 sensors just fine as the warning light is not on in the dash anymore and all 4 tire pressures are reading on the display, just not for the right location...

I had the same problem with my 08 2LT there is a software update that needs to be done at the dealer. I had mine done under the 3/36 and now it works like it should. There is a tsb on this that your dealer can look up. If you are out of warranty they my want to charge you I don't know.

Thanks Lucky, I'm sure they would charge me... They charged me once already when they had to reprogram it a couple years ago when my battery went dead over the winter and the TPMS quit working. I was just outside of the 3/36 warranty at that time and they still wouldn't cover it.

Good suggestion though. I do need new tires so maybe I can get the dealer to throw in the calibrating of the TPMS when I have them mount new shoes!
