Problems with repaired clutch
I had my clutch plate replaced at about 140,000 miles. After that I had problems shifting after traveling long distance in hot weather. I would pull into rest stops and have no clutch. I would coast to a parking space in nuetral. After it cooled down the clutch would be fine and I could drive again. I would have it cheched out and could drive again. The last time it happened they found air in the fluid. This is the only time they found anything wrong. I now have about 175,000 miles on car and am needing a new clutch plate. I would like to know if what could be causing this before I get it repaired. I know when I had my clutch repaired on a chevy metro, they used gear oil when the transmission needed automatic transmission fluid even though it was a manual transmission. Could this be the problem here that the wrong fluid was used.
