Radiator Seam Burst - 4000 miles

A woman here in the office drives her husbands HHR (I have passed on the benefits of HHR Club membership) that they purchased in July, and yesterday apparently the engine light came on and she was only able to get someplace safe to stop within about 2 blocks. The temp was pegged. They had it towed to the dealer, who today diagnosed a warranty repair for a radiator that burst at the upper seam.

That's all the news as of this moment. Makes me want to look at mine, even if my x-ray eyes are out of order.

UPDATE: Dealer installed new out of box radiator. It had a hole in it. New rad on order.

UPDATE: New rad received & installed. All good to go for now. 9/27/06

Radiator Seam Burst 9000 miles

Visiting My Daughter And Grandson In Crosby Texas. Drove Down Here From Iowa. This Is Our Second Trip Since We Got Our Blue Hhr In March.
Car Made A Loud Popping Sound. Everything Seemed Alright. Made A Stop At The Store For 10 Minutes. When I Came Out There Was A Puddle Of Coolant Under The Car. Topped Off The Coolant And Drove Less Than A Mile To A Chevrolet Dealer.
The Temp Did Reach 240 For 5 Minutes.
Love The Hhr. When I Was 16 I Bought An Old '49 Chev Panel Truck And
Drove It All Summer. The Hhr Caught My Eye Of Course.
Hope This Info May Be Helpful

The radiator burst last night (Wed).
Got it to the dealer right away.
They called me this afternoon (Thurs) and told me what they found. Said with luck it could be done tomorrow (Fri).
Stopped by the dealership late this afternoon and it was inside minus the radiator.(Thurs)
I'll let you know. Thanks

Sorry to hear of this Tommy. It sounds like all is going well in the end.

Hopefully this is an isolated problem or two in this thread
