Everything else works fine and the radio's clock displays when the rest of the unit is turned off. Car is still making all other chimes and sounds except for the turn signals not clicking. That can probably be easily addressed, and in the mean time, they still work fine. It does indeed sound like the battery is one thing I should have tested just for the sake of elimenation, of nothing else. That, and to do the battery lobotomy in a day or so. The voltage was tested across the battery terminals just after the repair, with amperage not checked as far as I know. Car is at least running well.

I'm going to check all the fuses I can test with a meter in the next day or so. The fuse diagram I have in the manual does not match the actual fuse block in the driver's compartment, but I think the diagram that was just posted here may more accurately reflect what's what as far as the actual fuse block. Of course I really want to find and test the amplifier fuse. I'll spare you the story as to why I can't check any of these things until tomorrow even though none of them sound very time consuming. Thanks for all the advice so far.

You mean fuse #6 in the BCM fuse box under the console?

Ok well good answers all around even if some of them may or may not have worked, who knows? When it comes to something a bit mystifying like this one, the best we can do is give a good, educated guess. None the less, I disconnected the battery for 30 minutes, then reconnected it and everything worked just fine after that. No idea what had originally caused the problem, but I'm not goingt to let it cost me further sleep. Thanks everyone!

As I used to tell my brother, told ya.

But seriously, these trucklets are a different animal all together, and we have gathered information here since 2005. And have figured out what works. It’s like rebooting your PC or laptop, I don’t know why, it just works!
