Thanks for the input everyone . Could tires that are almost to the wear bars cause this problem to. There about a 1/8 to less from the bars. I'm just trying to find all the possabilities and go from the simplest / cheapest checks to harder/ expensive ones. I try to note where and when this problem occurred as blacknight stated .

If the tires are almost worn out they could be the source of the problem, if one of them has a funny wear pattern or a bald spot, they can definitely create a vibration.
It goes without saying really, but if you're that close to the wear bars, get some new shoes on that ride pronto.

My HHR has developed a shudder when breaking too.
I was convinced it was the tie rod ends so I replaced them. The dealer thought it might be the inner tie rod ends but their tech said he tested the entire front end and everything is within tolerance.
The problem was still there. So, I determined it must be a warped rotor but when I run the dial indicator against the disk and turn it the needle barely moves.
I tried running up to around 60 and very firmly applying the brakes several times and that did nothing but the shudder. I did replace the back brakes because one of the springs was broken and a new set of lifetime shoes and the hardware kit at Auto zone was quite reasonable.
The rear brake adjusters were taken apart and some of the anti-seize compound applied to them as well.
I’ve already taken the bushings out of the front sway bar and gave them a coating of anti-seize compound, and I’m pretty sure there is no play in the anti-sway bar links but plan to replace them anyway probably at tax time.
Its not a big problem for me as of yet and probably will not become one, it just bothers me some.

Got to work
Well finally got the car on stands this weekend. Took some pics for you all will try posting soon. Haven't had the shaking problem since the post. Checked the pads still got alot of life in them after 42000 miles. So my best guess to the problem is the lil grimlin in my beast was having a tantrum. But thanks again for all your insite everyone
