Rattle rattle thunder clatter.......

Can anyone give me some hints as to fixing the numerous rattles in my '09 SS?
I counted 8 on the way home last night, 3 doors, the rear cargo area, and 4 in the dash! This thing is way worse than my Z28 with T-Tops and it only has 4000 miles. I can't imagine what it will be like at 10K. The worst is an occasional cracking one high in the dash. Took out the center dash storage tray but that is not it. Next worse is the passenger door, near the armrest.
Grrrr.........

Good luck chasing them down. I've narrowed one in my driver door down to the "pull" handle or the window trim. Yucky.

One good thing about getting older and losing my hearing. I can't hear any rattles in my car. Oh, I'm sure there is some, but I just don't hear em!

Ugh! Creaks and rattles will drive you mad until you isolate them.

Do you have someone to ride with you Vcode?

There are times when having a passenger with you to listen for the particular rattle and conduct some "experimental thwacking, thumping, and pressing" is the best way to locate the source of the noise.

If its any consolation, my 2011 was a determined "creak and rattle-mobile" until it got more miles under its belt. By the time it hit 10,000 miles, all the rattles and creaks stopped, its almost like the interior trim pieces had to "wear in".

These are MY people! - Rattle, Rattle, creek, creek, groan, groan. We need our own section and sticky. There are so few screws holding trim together anymore. Clips and hard plastic all rubbing together in harmony with 'leather creak'. One of my fav tricks is to close all the dash vents and crank the blower fan. Jet engine sounds baby! - a nice diversion from the noises for a little while. Then its back to 'sunroof open and Pantera CD' - A nice mixed bag of noise tolerance tricks are essential.

I can identify sleeper, my '93 S-10 Blazer creaked like a pirate ship stuck on a reef, especially when it got below 50 degrees.

Mike- Yes "creak" is a better term for what my '85 S-10 was doing..

But in it's defense @ 237K miles I would creak a bit too.. (wait, I do creak at times)..

Sadly my S-10 creaked with 500 miles on the clock, and it continued to creak, crack, and carry on until I sold it off with 60,000 miles under its belt.

To the OP, are there certain temperature ranges when the rattles are at their worst, like cold mornings or warm afternoons?
