Rear Bowtie

I have a 2007 LT1 and the rear bowtie is defective, I've seen the same problem on other HHRs I've seen I parking lots and such. The gold is caved in and there is a lot of dirt inside of it.

Is there anyone of you that have had the happen? And is there any way to fix it my self?

Paint it or vinyl overlay.

low bid quality, mine did the same thing. I try to show everyone how much a low bid quality car GM builds. It should make them so proud. And you wander why everyone is buying Foreign cars now... I took mine in with less than 15000 miles on the odometer to complain about the leather seat falling apart. Had to go to the better business bureau file a complaint to make them fix it. I had to take the seat out and take it to an upholster myself. Pay for it and send them the bill to get reimbursed. I did not get a car to drive while the vehicle was down for repair. So BUNKER CHEVROLET in Marion ,Indiana can go out of business cause I will never buy another from them.

The gold is only a foil. You will have to get new ones or,like Bad 03extreme said Get creative. Here are four I made.

Had it happen to both the '06 and the '07, just replaced the emblems with new ones in about half an hour per vehicle. Its just not limited to the HHR's, delaminating Bowtie emblems seem to be an issue for most Chevrolet models over the last decade or so. Best bet is to replace them or use an overlay/paint over, no real way to repair them as the gold is a foil layer sandwiched in the emblem layers.
