Rear door lock sticking

Rear door lock sticking
On our 2008 LT the driver side rear door lock seems to stick. You can lock with the remote to find all the other doors locked and that one still unlocked.
Looking at it when locking it appears go down just a bit but not all the way. A second tap to lock gets it down and locked.
Is there something I can access to lube it or is there another problem here?

I would advise removing the door panel. Sounds like the lock switch needs lubrication. The switch could be finished or something is jamming it's access. Unfortunetly, you probably don't have any warrenty left?

Take the lock knob off, just unscrew it. If it works better, then someone forced your knob down or up and bent the arm for it. In this case, the knob would be rubbing on the door panel and halting its movement. If this doesn't point out the issue, your solenoid may be bad.

If these suggestions do not fix the issue you may want to have the vehicle checked by your dealership. They should be able to resolve the issue and get you back on the road enjoying your vehicle. I hope these suggestion help you.

My driver side rear door does exactly the opposite. When I unlock with the fob it needs a third push to unlock that door only. And after the second push, when all doors should be unlocked, the plunger on that one is part way up and cannot be manually pulled the rest of the way. I just live with it, unfortunately that door is the only one other than the driver and rear gate that I normally use.

I'd check the simple things first......
Check and see if the knob itself is rubbing, in the small hole opening of the door panel. GM issued a TSB regarding this. The fix is a simple round file and doing a little relief/surgery on the opening.
If not that, I would do as others have suggested. Check to see if the threaded rod is bent or obstructed.
EDIT: Here's the TSB. It mentions this condition only happens on the drivers front door. But I would check to see if you have this condition anyway. It's post #96.

I had problems with my rear passenger door, at first it was wasnt popping all the way, but it got to the point where I couldnt pull it up with my fingers either. I brought it in under warranty and they replaced the entire door mechanism, as it was an internal problem. Now my drivers rear door is starting to not pop all the way, and Im out of the 3yr warranty. I bet its expensive to do the replacement, I may go looking at the wreckers and do it myself unless its the easy fix for rubbing the interior panel.
