Have you tried a little WD40 or similar on the hinges?

All hinges like a little lube once in awhile. Rear hatch hinges would probably love a little white lithuim gease on the hinges and latch. Door hinges like it also. Seems to quieten them down. "Moon"

Mine makes a bit of noise when it's cold out, like it is now. Otherwise it's quiet. My 06 was the same. You could probably get new struts and it might be quiet for awhile... it doesn't really hurt anything so I just let it go. That said, if yours is very loud I would have it looked at.

Had the same noise and gate wouldn't open fully without pushing it up. Noise went away when the dealer replaced the gate struts (over a yr ago and still quiet)

Yeah it was the struts for me, but now the new ones are doing it again. Might just live with it.

I have learned to live with my issue. Been in for so many other issues, this one is too minor to even address for me. But yeah, mine creaks in the and seems to bind in upper left (driver's side) corner.

mine made that noise just a couple weeks after purchase and had the dealer look at it and they wouldnt replace any thing said it was normal did it to another one and no noise but they still refused any fix for the it. Only makes it when its cold so im not to worried but oh well just one more noise to get use to.
