My '07 HHR with 7,800 miles died two weeks ago. Dash "dinged" and it said "reduced engine mode". The car was towed, They replaced the the throttle body assembly. I picked it up, drove less than 15 miles and I died again. Milked the car back to the dealer, where it was given a new computer.
Picked up the car again, drove it less than 6 miles..... you guessed it! Had it towed back in. Now they want to tear open the wiring harness and look for a broken wire. Anyone else have this problem? If so, was it ever fixed, and how!

 

Welcome, sorry about your problem. I had with engine reduced problem with power steering but didn't die. So i can't help you. Does it do it all of the sudden or when giving it gas, braking, or something like that?

 

I had this happen two weeks ago. But this happened after the battery went dead. Limped her into the dealer, they reprogramed the puter and has been ok since. Hope this help's your problem.

 

It didn't just die completely, but slowed down to a snails pace.
NO POWER! Intermittently. Then would take off all of a sudden without warning.

 

Yea.. That happened to me before, right as I was crossing a busy street

Along with the Reduced Power, I had every warning light flashing at different times; sometimes none at all. Mine turned out to be a loose ground somewhere.
