Remote start only works with one key fob
Hey guys, 1st post. Great forum!
My wife just bought a 2007 2LT. One of the remotes works fine but on the second the start button will only flash the lights and honk the horn. Any thoughts?

Welcome Bennie, could be the battery inside the remote? I know if you are only using one, (like me) the other has the tendency not to work, cause it's not being used (sounds weird). Could also be a circuit issue. Just saying this from past experience.

to the forum BennieA!
My first thought is that the dealer or seller gave you a mismatched fob, but that would mean it wouldn't/shouldn't work any functions. I'd carefully take the offending fob apart and make sure there is nothing bridging the contacts on the circuit board.
You might just have a dud fob, but this is an unusual symptom.

welcome Bernie to the site, that's a new one. If you bought it from a chevy dealer, I'd go whine. I got a couple spares I bought here programed, and they replaced one that the contacts were messed up, and called it warranty work.

Thanks for the input guys. We bought it from a Honda dealer "as-is". Actually the remote that is working great now didn't work at all and it turned out to be cold solder joints on the battery clip. I fixed it the night we bought it and just figured it was a fluke. Then I saw the thread on here about that. Guess I'm not the only one.
Everything looks good inside this remote and the lock/unlock buttons function just fine. Maybe I'll check with the local Chevy dealer and see what they say.

Bennie, press the lock button, then within 2 seconds press and hold the lock and panic buttons at the same time.
I have 1 remote with a bad RS button, been using this method for a couple years. A lot of GM remotes will work this way.
