Remote start triggers panic horn
Has anyone experienced a situation where trying to use the remote start on your car triggers the horn to sound off as if you've punched the panic button on the key fob? My car won't remote start, it's just sounds the horn.

A friend of mine at work had his 2006 hhr do this lately. He found a preliminary information bulletin (PI) that said if this happens that the transmitter could be bad. We are going to try to locate another one tomorrow and see if that corrects it.

Fyi: It will need to be programed for the vehicle it is intended to be used on..

1passyunk,
I'm sorry that you are having this issue. Have you taken your car into the dealer? You may need to have your key fob and receiver diagnosed and possibly reprogrammed. Please let me know if you need my assistance, thank you!

Yes we have tried reprogramming it and even tried his other that he knew was bad. We have resoldered the battery clip once on each one of his remotes. I tried to tell him to fix it before the winter because he loves his remote start.

How did you try to program it? You can't program the tranmitters w/o a Tech 2.
