There is a thread or two..................

Basically there are two screws at the bottom of the door pull under the rubber insert, and one more in behind the cap behand the door handle. One pin on the door jam section the you push in to take out. Then just grab and pull around the lower edges. You will need to then disonnect the handle and switched to remove completely.

After you take it out is there any way to swap out the center section? I was thinking about changing the center to black(my panels are gray).

The part that threw me the first time I removed the door panel was the little clip on the rear facing part of the door at armrest level. The center part pushes IN which releases the clip assembly part so it can be removed. when you reinstall you pull that part so it is sticking up and push it flush to lock it. It makes more sense when you see it.

Both the front seat interior door handles have broken on my daughter's 2006 HHR.
Now I get to try and remove them so I can manufacture a repair. This is the only post I have seen about removing the interior door panel. Thanks

Broken, as in cracked down the middle?
If that is it, I have the same problem. How do you think you want to fix it?

I got the damn inside door panel off, but when I put it back on, it's all loose and wiggly. I can't get the snaps around the perimeter to go back in. It's tight where the metal clips are up by the window, and of course where the screws are holding it into place (by the handle), but around the perimeter it just kinda hangs there.
