Running board pads

Has anyone done a fix for the step pads on there running boards? My pads are like new, but they are bowing up in spots. No longer laying flat. I tryed using 3M adhisive to make them lay flat, but it didn't work. I really don't want to remove the running boards, just to correct the problem.

Did you run the 3M all the way down the full length? Might have to put some weight on it for a few hours for it to bond.

I tryed that solman. I used the 3m tape, with the red cover. I think because the underside of the pad is not a flat surface,it doesn't catch enough of the pad surface to hold it down. I even tryed heating the pad where the waves are to see if heat would make them lay flat. It didn't work. Thanks anyway. Just looking for some ideas, short of removing the boards

I remember early on there were 2 different types of boards, dealer installed and factory installed. Looked the same, but were indeed different. I heard several with the dealer installed boards had this issue later. Might try just replacing the pads if you can even find them seperate.

Anyone know a fix or cheap replacement for one? I ripped it off on the first one from the junk yard. They are $100 each from what I see and I only paid $40 for both so I'd rather just use some self tap screws with fender washers lol.

also how can you get them off easily?
