Running Board Problem
Henry and I went to a car show today that had nearly 200 cars and we took both the HHR and his 74 Olds Cutlass which he is trying to sell. I didn't enter mine, but wanted it to look nice sitting in the lot, and available in case I decided to leave and go home. So while I was waiting for him to show up, I got out my California Duster and Meguiars Quick Detailer and went to work. When he showed up, all that was left to do, was the tires and running boards. While doing that, this is what I saw. I was so floored, that I dropped everything and took these pictures. Didn't even bother to wipe anything off until after the pics. Also noticed the black mark...but that wiped right off...not sure what that was.
Guess I'll have to take it back in and see what they will do to correct the problem. It's time for an oil change anyway, so I can kill two birds with one rock.

I live in FL. with a lot of sun & heat, nothing so far with mine. The rubber pad is just glued on. The new boards that I have for the wife that are unpainted have the pads in the box to be installed after paint. They have peal off sticky back to them

I would`ve felt that long ago, wiping and shining.

the only problem I have had with my running boards was right after I purchased it, July last year, I found the front clip on the driver side pad on the running board was popped up and broken. I took it to the dealership. and they ordered a new set of running borads. At the time, they said the whole board needed to be replaced, they did not make replacement pads at the time.
