I would`ve felt that long ago, wiping and shining.

BB...that's not glue running down the car. I was cleaning it up with detail spray when I spotted the problem with the running board. I was so freaked out, I put down the rag and snapped a picture, then rubbed it off.

It really hasn't been all that hot here...so I don't think it's heat related. I washed the car on Saturday afternoon and they were fine, so this just happened between yesterday and today. It's not a huge deal...it just looks like crap, but my dealer is pretty good about taking care of problems, so I'll address it later this week when I take it by for an oil change.

I really like those billett covers, but they just aren't in my budget at this time, so I'll see what the dealer says and go from there. I'll probably take it by Wednesday, as Monday and Tuesday are pretty busy days at work. Plus...I've been working at Ball Corporation the last 4 months thru a temporary service and they offered me a permanent position on Friday, so I need to get all that handled and not have taking my car in for service a big deal right now.

I'll let you all know what the dealer says and how the problem is resolved as soon as I know.

I'm wondering if this could have anything to do with abrasion or rubbing. Do you ever catch your foot on the board as you enter the vehicle? Do you ever have your foot on the board and rotate your foot while standing on it? These sorts of actions could cause some issues with the tape sticking, maybe????

Nope...nothing like that calgary...the only person that has ever stepped on my boards is my 3 year old granddaughter. She likes standing on there peering in the passenger window to say bye to her Grandma. And that's only been a couple times...she doesn't do it every time. I myself, never step on them or catch my foot on them...I think it's just an issue with the tape that holds them down.

I installed the running boards myself. I ordered from the dealer for a couple of months ago and the black pads were held down with plastic tabs that were part of the pad. I used a rubber mallet to hamer them in. I really had to hit it so it would click into place once it did it seems to have locked into place and I have not had any problems so far.

Sorry Deb, I didn`t realize it was spray that you had just applied, I mean the bump wasn`t gonna dissappear or something, and it wasn`t like it was a U.F.O. and you had to catch that once in a lifetime shot.
Oh well, please except my apology.

Deb
My running boards had the same warping problem and I installed them myself. They are not glued down as Hamer said. I took it to the dealer and they covered it under warranty, they are replacing the whole board today.

When the dealership replaced mine, they said they have to order them in pairs. They replaced my driver side and gave me the passenger side in the box in case I ever needed it. May want to ask for the spare one, unless they are replacing both today.. just a thought

Got it back today any they somehow only replaced the black step pad, not the whole board. Looks OK for now, we'll see once the 115 degree AZ sun hits it.

Guess the dealership/GM didn't want to eat the GRAND for new boards and paint either!
