The paint code is not in the vin. but any dealer can run the vin. and get the paint code. You can even get a build sheet that tells all the rpo codes of your car [rpo codes is all the things on sticker in clove box] that tell what brakes,eng.,opt., all the parts of that car. Paint code is on there also.

when mine were replaced, they told me the same thing. They would have to order them and then paint them. When the boards arrived, they were already painted...go figure.. good luck.

Ok, but keep them SBO, even if it`s for resale purposes.

Nothing is set in stone yet, except that they are being replaced. They won't be here for at least a week they said,so I've go time to ponder if I want to do this or not. They might totally nix the idea unless I pay for painting and who knows how much that would be.

sunburstchris has an HHR with different coloured boards.

This'll give you an idea of what it might look like:

Just to bump things up.......today I noticed the center of the driver's side pad lifting. Passenger looks okay. I have an oil change due so I will have the dealer look at it while I am there.

my trucks bed liner used to do the same thing in the heat, the sun would heat the lip covering the top edhe of the bed liner, it would expand and ripple and warp, put it in the shade or wait till it colls off and they went back to normal.

Mine have stayed that way reble8ball, sun or shade. Dealer called last week and the boards are in. They went out to be painted and they will call so I can bring it in for install hen they come back from paint shop. My dealer doesn't have a body shop operation, so they have to be sent out for painting. I'm sure that slows down the process, but I'm not in a major rush anyway as long as it's in the works, I'm good.

with the pads being stuck down they prolly get hot and the glue softens, the pad buckles, and then the when the glue cools, the pad is stuck that way.
just a thought...

There are a couple of different boards and the pads attach differently on some I understand. But that is PROBABLY in this thread.
