I bought a pair of colour matched boards for $600.00 installed. This is going to solve the stone chip problem for sure. Tht`s why i would like to take the stone guards off.....if it`s possible

You'll be repainting them every 6 months than. It will also start to ride up your car which is happening on mine as well.

Not a sure cure for the problem. Dory's had the boards from day one (Sept 05), chipping still occurs but at a very much slower rate.

vschriver, keep us posted on the result from the GM rep. My 2007 is getting some minor roughness on those lower rocker panel areas right where the angle is for the beginning of the rear fender flare. You can't see it but running your finger over the paint there it feels rough, even after a wash and polish.

Have the dealer install mudflaps, which will help this problem,The running boards are a lot more expensive, but will save your paint.... Members have complained about this since 05 or 06....

Mine had the boards from the start. I had one rock I know bounced down the drivers side and made 3 marks. Later I installed the molded mud flaps and not a mark since then. I think combo of the two is the best you can do.

Lone Ranger, I will let you know tomorrow when he calls me back. I have a feeling however that the answer will be NO or put mud flaps on since that is what the dealer said. Either way I will get them but it would be nice if they stood behind their vehicles. Also, mine are so bad that after you wash it the car shines than you see two areas that look like they are dirty. Stands out bad on the vehicle.

GM called today they will do NOTHING for me. They said they investigated and found that it is an accessory and I will have to add them myself. I did make a point to say it is sad when Toyota is dishing out big bucks for one of their older vehicles 97-2000 and giving people their $$ back to buy new vehicles and GM will do nothing for a vehicle that they new had issues. BLOWS MY MIND. The guy didn't even care he kept saying it is GM's policy to not buy accessories for vehicles.

So, I called the dealer back and voiced my opinion with them AGAIN. I told them I was willing to work with them. That I didn't spend 20,000+ on a vehicle to have it repainted 6 months later and spend more money. They called me back and said they will do the running boards and mudflaps at cost and put them on free and repaint the rocker panels which I think I'll leave on for added protection. I know the running boards are 439.00 for the pair not sure what they are at cost. Than he said there are several running boards out there. I told him I wanted the factory one's...is this what most people have? I want the best thing that is going to protect the paint. I also pointed out the fact that it has been in the garage 3 times (recall, rattle in headliner, Steering Column had to be replaced, Rotars had issues and it will be going in for Axle issues and a piece will be added to the Grille to prevent Radiator issues). Do you guys thing this qualifes for the LemonLaw thing

why not get the running boards, then have the wheel wells sprayed with rhino lining?

anything thats recall or manufactorer defect WILL NOT be covered under the lemon law.. a part has to break (and be replaced with a new one) several times (usually 3-7 times) or in the repair shop (to fix the broken part) for a number of days out of service.... check your lemon law book (you should have gone one upon delivery) when you sales person went over all the features with you and made sure you had no questions before you left the lot.
