Security light and bouncing gauges
#11
ok. so i think i know what caused it. I put in a sub in my car but because i have the factory head unit i tapped into the speaker wires in the pillar. The amp that i have has an auto turn on feature that when power is supplied to the plug that it uses it powers the amp. When i unplugged the speakers from the amp and went for a 2 hour drive no bouncing or security light. planning on going out a bit later and plugging it back to see if that was indeed the cause.
I think because the chimes and ticks for the signal light's and stuff go through the speakers and the amp gets powered before the car turns on it is causing some chaos... I have never heard of this before but it's all i can think of.

It is a pretty well publicised fact that the chimes are commanded by the BCM and generated by the radio and heard through The driver side speakers.
So, any messing with The speaker wires could have an effect on the BCM.

ok... i was wrong. i went out again and the light came back on and the sub was still unplugged. Now i'm really confused on what is causing it. On a side note does anyone have a wiring diagram of the bcm? i can't seem to find one that has labels for what all the wires are? But i am at a lose now because it came back

Sorry to resurrect an old post but I have some new information regarding this. This issue has been caused by an OBD2 bluetooth dongle from China. I have tried 2 separate dongles and both had the same result everytime. Just thought I would give everyone a heads up that is curios to what was causing my problem.

malibuhhr - he OP says he has traced down his problem to the OBD dongle. We appreciate the info on the relays, we really do, but please there is no great reason to post that info on any resolved thread that you find that is related to electrical issues.
