Shifter Assembly Question

Hey Guys!
Thank you so much for such a great place to get some excellent info and save time and money!!!

I've got a question on my 06 LT shifter. I've got the dreaded "Key won't come out of the ignition" problem and read how to fix this. I got the part number from another thread as 25860318. I want to verify what this part number is exactly as I'm getting some different info.

From the other post, I think what I need is this (marked with the red arrow)...

I put that part number in at GM Parts Direct online and they didn't have a picture, so I emailed them and this is what I got back...

"The part number supplied, 25860318, is the automatic shift control. It includes item numbers 3-7, 9 and 10 in the accompanying illustration.

Is this correct? I'm wanting to make sure before I spend the money. Thanks in advance!

Hey Chad,
Thanks for the reply. Does your's still have the leather boot? Or did you put that on yours? I don't want to seem picky, but I REALLY like the new style boot instead of the plastic.

Did you have the "Key Stuck" problem? If so, did changing just the shifter fix it?

Also, I love your car!! I've got the same one, Black 06 LT automatic. Haven't done anything to it at all but drive and enjoy! But I LOVE what you've done to yours!

Did you get those 4 nuts off the shifter mount - Mine just spun and I really wanted to change the whole thing out.

As did I and the chrome bezel wont lock down. I took it apart twice and the white and black top pieces sit too low. I have no idea how or why, they only go on one way.

Hey Chad,
Did you order the part# 25860318? Or did you get yours off of Ebay or somewhere else? I'm interested in this being the correct number for the whole assembly. GM Parts Direct told me to go and get a VIN number off of 08 in the lot of a dealer so they can make sure I'm ordering the "correct" part! WTF!?!?!?
