Slight pop when steering at slow speed
#2
It could be an upper strut mount, when they fail due to age and the grease drying up, they can produce a "pop" or snapping sound when the wheel is turned.
Pop your hood, and have a helper/lovely assistant turn the wheel lock to lock while you listen for noises at the top of the strut towers.
Also pay attention to noises emanating from the wheel wells and steering column.
One word of caution, you'll be doing something called "dry steering" which can overheat the power steering motor.
So don't hold it at full lock, and don't repeat the lock to lock cycle without giving it a chance to cool off.
