Sloshing noise

Has anyone experienced like a water sloshing noise that sounds like its in the dash after you first put it in gear and start to move?? I noticed this noise earlier when we went to leave to go away?? Its the first time Ive ever heard it and was just curious if anyone has encountered this or know what it is??

My guess is you are just hearing the gas tank? Was the tank mostly full when you heard the noise?

yes, it was full, I just filled it up yesterday afternoon, and have maybe 20 miles burned off of it.

Check you antifreeze it may be low or you have air in the system. Low Antifreeze or air will make the dash sound like that.

Slosh sound too...

My '08 has had that same noise for about a year, it only does it when I first start the car in the mornings or evenings after sitting for more than 6 hours.
I figure it is just air in the system that has to flush thru the cooling and heater, even though the system is full.
I just ignore it to the point that I had forgotten about it till I read this thread.
Would like to know what and how to cure....if possible.

I would say it's low on coolant! Look at it after the car has set overnight before starting. Remove cap and look there not in jug.

I may have been wrong about the gas tank being the cause of the noise. This morning I had to return my wife's rental Impala and the tank was almost empty and I heard the sloshing sound. I have yet to hear it in my HHR. That being said I'm not sure anymore. When I had my Honda Fit I could hear the gas sloshing around when it was full, but this sounded different.

I love this forum!! All I did was search on "sloshing" and there was my solution. My car sloshes also when I first turn it on, and I just recently heard it...where do I look for the coolant - left, right, or middle...I bet mine is low. At 3+ yrs old and only 19K miles on it, it doesn't get a lot of servicing.

not an expert

but I had the same issue, the coolant was low I filled the radiator first and allowed it to run with the cap off to get the air out, then I filled the overflow and poof sloshing sound gone, it is air in the system moving thru the heater core under the dash and thats what you hear...hope this helps!!!!
