Slow parts department
#12
alot of the problem is...dealers charge whatever they can/want. But it also depends on their cost....the more they buy, the cheaper they pay...and if you're lucky, they'll pass the savings on to the consumer.
My GF's dealership is a GMC dealer...they dont stock HHR parts...so if they need to buy those parts, either from GM directly, or a middle-man, they will not get any price breaks...
their cost on those mudflaps was $62...DEALER cost, that is...why? because they would order them 1 set at a time.
i used to sell tires at a national chain store...believe me when I tell you...we were a Michelin dealer...we sold alot of Michelin tires...guess what? Costco(like a sam's club) could actually sell the same tires to our tire shop for less than we got charged from Michelin. We used to actually send a tire guy down to costco to buy tires just so we could supply our customers with what they needed...especially certain specialty tires like those for Range Rovers, certain Volvo's, 3 series BMW's...etc.
so if you are having trouble with your dealer's pricing...dont even bother with them...find an outside source...and go mail order...even with shipping, you'll probably come out ahead. I was just trying to get some info to you incase you ran out of options.
...as always...just trying to help. I already have mudflaps
