Hi all! I am a new HHR owner (I bought a 2008 LT at a salvage auction) the speed sensor wire on the drivers side was severed in the accident when I soldered the wires together today I notices the wires were extremely fine, the question I have is this because the wires bend with the travel of the strut or is there another reason?

Well the wires are only carrying a very low voltage signal so they don't need to be a very heavy gauge, plus flexibility is needed when the wheels are turned.
