Sporadic idle issue when coming to a complete stop!!!!

Well, FINALLY!!!!! I was able to have a weekend off work and took my TB out to clean it. I gotta say, it was dirty inside!!!!! I cleaned it up pretty good and replaced the gasket. Which if you plan on replacing it make sure you order it a few days before you'll need it. I went to all my local shops and even two dealerships and no one had it in house. Had to end up going about an hour away from my house to find it. But anyways, I cleaned it up and put everything back on and it runs great now. No more sporatic/rough idle and seems to sound a bit better. I did notice that now right when I turn it on, it revs up to about 2000rpm and drops right down to about 1000. Don't know if it's normal for them to do that but it doesn't seem to be hurting anything. I have noticed a slight increase in my gas mileage also! It took me about thirty minutes to pull it off, clean it and put everything back on and only requires a ratchet, 10mm socket, flat head screw driver and a microfiber towel. I did take step by step pictures during the whole thing so if anyone is interested in seeing how to do it, I should be able to get them all together and posted this weekend.

Not like your lumina does. I have at least 1 (possibly 2) new standard AIC Motors in stock in my garage. I clean my own for my prior 93 lumina and on my 2003 impala. But customers I give new. Less hassle & no combacks. Only real issue with them is getting dirty. They dont fail on their own mechanically too often. I can always PM you on how to clean then right & reset the pintle so it doesn't jam up in the throttle body when it's reinstalled.

I actually just cleaned the whole air intake system on my Lumina (including the IAC) myself about a month or two ago. Real easy...but I didn't realize you had to be careful putting it back in. In all honesty, it kind of got jammed up, but I got it in. When I started it, it revved high for a second but dropped down to normal. Been probably 1-2k miles since and no issues. Maybe I'm just lucky.
Honestly I've never really heard of an IAC going bad either, just dirty. Mine actually wasn't too bad. In fact, the whole system was pretty good, especially for the miles I have. Now it looks as good as new!
