starting problem

starting problem

06 2.4 acting up 92 degree day wife gets in and car wont start then after several tries it starts goes and gets gas and wont start again then finally starts gets the car home and cuts it off the car stars and shut off like something is telling fuel pump to stop let sit for hour or so and starts every time i started the car I know 15 times and starts every time I think its heat related any ideas or simular problems.

If it is cranking and not starting it's either a fuel pump or the security system. Fuel pressure needs to be checked when the vehicle is acting up.

it starts and shuts right off when its acting up it doesnt keep turning over.

So it always starts and then dies when it is acting up? I would still start by checking fuel pump pressure.

yes it starts but it shuts down instantly like the gas is just cut off but ever
since it cooled off it started fine every time hav'nt driven it since it acted up put wife in old 96 surburban I started it last night and let it run until good and warm seemed like it took forever for the fan to come on is this normal it would come on when I turned on ac like it's supposed to this is the only problem ever had except rotors do you check psi on fuel rail.Bought car new june 06 has 58k on it.

The service port is on the fuel rail. Should read 50-60 psi.

psi was 65 had friend check and found a loose pin conector under fuse box
hope this was it wife driving again today will see.

Hey how did you find the loose pin? Was it at the fuse block itself?

Had the exact same issue with my 06. It was the fuel pump wire going out of the fuse box. There was no locking tab on the terminal and when the plug was pressed onto the fuse box the wire terminal pushed out. It was the grey wire on the plug closest to the fire wall on the driver's side of the plug.
