Sticking lock on drivers door...

Had a rough week so far..Monday both of my key fobs stop working....Then yesterday the drivers door lock seized up. Actually it felt more bound up..You would try to turn the key and it would move some, but not all the way to unlock. Called AAA and they unlocked my pass door...next day my wife says "What'd you do to fix it?" as it was suddenly working fine..

So what should I be looking at? Both fobs suddenly stop...Reprogram the keys? What is the consensus of the sticking door lock? Thanks in advance!

The sticking door lock is probably the latch/lock mechanism in the door. Might never happen again and then again it could. The key fobs not working may have lost their programming. You can try holding the lock and unlock button down at the same time, while standing next to the vehicle and the transmitter may resync. Do each transmitter one at a time.

When you have the remote to unlock the door, the key seldom gets used and the lock cylinder or the linkage that connects to it can get corroded. There are graphite based products made for locks that you can squirt into the lock. It will also follow down the linkage somewhat to lube that also. It's a good idea to lube locks at least once a year using a graphite or molybdenum product that dries after application. WD40 can be used but it stays wet and dust will stick to it. The lock cylinders are made of aluminum so they will corrode. Do the steering column ignition lock cylinder too.

So far, I have been locked out my car 3 times for this happening in the last week. Just left the dealers to get my fob reprogrammed, and it wouldn't hold the programming. Got a new fob, still won't keep the programing. They think the remote receiver module is going out. Guess I will be having this changed as soon as I check to see if my warranty covers it or if I have to pay for it.
