Strange noise when I´m driving & Turn to the Right side.
Hi. I´ve experienced an annoying noise during the last 6 months. When I´m driving i.e 40 mph and I turn the steering wheel to the right to change lane, I hear a noise like a "rRrRrRrRrRrRr" in the driver´s side (rumbling, humming noise). I´ve made these actions to fix this issue:
1. Replaced the hub bearing on the driver side, Without any result. 400 bucks for nothing
2. Inspected the CV Joint Boots. Are in good condition (Not torn).
3. Changed the tires. Before I Had 225/45/R17, now 235/45/R17. This reduced the noise, but still present anyway.
Someone had experienced this? What could be?
Thanks!

Zaggo, just an FYI the drivers side is the left side. Even though it sounds like it is on the left side (drivers), it still could be the right side (passenger) bearing. You can switch the bearing from side to side to see if the noise moves.
He's in Mexico and his profile says 2007. I don't know if they have power train warranty in Mexico.

Thanks for your updates guys.
* an08HHR, I did the work by myself in my garage (I don´t thrust in the dealer). The warranty is not longer available in due the model year (2007).
* ChevyMgr, I already put the older hub bearing (driver side) to the passenger side, and the sound still as was before.
Regarding to the warranty in México, is a Nightmare to make it work, and also, Some times your car gets worst (the dealer guys remove good parts to put bad...This is another story).
I remember that the last year, when I was driving on the highway to Texas, I pass my HHR over a spare tire that probably felt from a pick up/SUV. It was about 3:00 AM and I was behind a Lincoln Navigator, then I didn´t have chance to move from lane. I pass over and hit the tire (This had rim), the HHR shaked and in the next gas station I checked it. The Automatic Trans pan was hitted, but not broken. The next month after this I drove my HHR carefully to verify any leak/Tranny issue, but nothing, and this happened about 20,000 km (12,500 miles) ago... I suspect that probably the tranny mount were damaged... A loose mount could conduct this, as I described at the begining of this post?

Hmmm...back tracking a bit....just because the CV boot isn't torn doesn't mean the CV is still good...check cv joints in a parking lot first turning left,,then turning right at slow speed....if a cv is bad it will be known by excessive noise/feel
Check also the underside of the frame for bent control arms etc...seeing how you ran over an object something could be damaged that only shows up n a right turn...
