You know it sounds like someone is taking styrofoam and squeezing it that is what I'm hearing above my head. I put my hand on one of the piece and pushed up and sure enough styrofoam sound. I have to calm down before I call them because I'm so ugly now. They fixed my window the same day put a new switch in because it wouldn't go back up and it did it AGAIN this weekend. Honestly Lemon is coming in my head with this car.

I took the advice of Leon in this thread and used hot glue to fix my headliner.

https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...ight=headliner

The glue on the two velcro strips in front of the sunroof let go on mine and the reinforcing strips on each side started peeling up and vibrating. Two glue sticks later and it will never come loose again!

After two tries I just don't understand what the issue is, especially when I just got it back last week. Unless, they only took 1 side down and fixed it or do they take the whole piece off and do it?

AGAIN. This will be the 3rd time this has happened come on people why is this so frigen hard to fix. Is anyone having the same problem who does NOT have a sunroof. With a big hole above my head I'm wondering if it can't handle the crappy velcro they are using around the thing. I love the car but I can't handle rattling in a new vehicle I've had 10 total and some as old as 89's and never have I had this many issues.
i am the same way....my 07 started having a noise (vibration) on the right side right behind the passenger seat..... and the headliner also wouldnt stay attached to the velcro in the front by the sunroof...... took it in today had a it fix.... so we will see.........

Mine had it too. Went to the dealer 4 times as well with no permanent fix. Mine rattled only if the shade was pulled back. The gap between the liner and the shade moved and caused the rattling (I only noticed it really with the sunroof closed and the shade open)... Too noisy to hear when the glass is back. I fixed it myself finally. Once I figured out what caused it (by pulling down on the liner while it made the noise). I put a spacer strip of velcro between the liner and the shade right at the front of where the liner and shade meets behind my head in the middle)... Gone now for a year!
Hope it helps!

Headliner noise

Mine does not have the sunroof, and has a noise in the headliner. It went to the shop 4 times to get it resolved previously. The first time they repaired a cross threaded bolt for the side air curtain. Second time they added glue to a support for the outside roof skin. Third time they replaced a clip in a side panel. Fourth time, they fixed the wire harness for the dome light that was rattling against the headliner, which is what I took it in for the on the third trip. Whew! I thought I was done, but now when driving on rough roads (like the chip-seal ones in my neck of the woods) I have a buzzing noise above the back seat. If I push up on the headliner when it is doing it, it stops, so I am thinking it is the velcro attachment. I just dont have faith in the dealership fixing it right, so I am looking for a how-to on dropping the headliner to fix it myself. Anyone have notes on how to drop the headliner?

My headliner started making noise at times after work was done under the recall. Took it back and they fixed it.

The noise was right behind the drivers head area and was very annoying. I also have a sun roof.

I had mine repaired for a noise behind the driver (No Sunroof) that sounded like a loose wire. They had to glue a support of some sort back into place. I too had to go in multiple times to get it fixed. I was able to replicate the noise on the final trip by tapping lightly in the right spot and I showed this to the tech that fixed it.
