T/C light on hard shift

And??? This isn't a place to play 20 Questions. It would be helpful if you made mention of what motor, the mileage, if the check engine light is on, if it is on what the error code is, also have you reset the error with a code reader or by disconnecting the battery...... etc.

Sorry I don't/can't text.
Give the battery disconnect a try (negative post only of course - leave it disconnected for 5 mins then reconnect) - if that does not clear it you will need to get a good/advanced code reader that can read the error code.
If you have known broken engine mounts, you need to get it/them fixed before more damage occurs. Broken engine mounts don't cause hard shifting as far as I am aware.
Having the handbrake lever raised slightly or a problem with the associated switch turns on the t/c light. If the T/C light and hard shifting are occurring at the same time, I believe some people have found cleaning the throttle body helps.

T/C light is on due to a pending code set by the computer. When any code is present, it puts the car in Limp mode, hence the hard shifting, usually felt from 1st to 2nd. You have a code being set; go have it read at an auto zone or what have you when the T/C is illuminated. The check engine light doesn't have to be on to pull the code. My problem along with countless others were the Camshaft position actuator solenoids. The only other time I had a T/C light and CEL was when I was fiddling with aftermarket intake systems. Start with solenoids; your 2006 2.4 does have VVT so the solenoids can be the issues.
