Dents just take on bad closing.

I would not push on the bar. Just fling it down with the inside handle or push the glass or bottom of the hatch.

There is really nor real good way to fix this with out major work. It is just thin steel to save weight just as Toyota, Honda, Ford and all the others use.

yea never push the tailgate closed by the chrome bar....thats what the dents are from..i usualy grab by the handle on the plastic and then just follow with the lisence plate but very softly

yeah my dealer tried it was from going through an auto wash. all the used HHRs had em. all i thought was BS. i did get them to knock a couple hundred off because of them.
