Well, I was a victim of car theft/vandalism first time in my 31 years. I went with my wife to IHOP. When we go back to my HHR I noticed the rear fixed slide glass broken from the drivers side, and a lot of shattered glass. Stopid thief, didn´t steal anything (I avoid to keep stuff inside my hhr ALL THE TIME to avoid that) and I think that the alarm was set when he opened the door, but I didn´t hear it because I parked it far away.Now I have a broken Glass. Somebody have changed it on their own? I plan to buy the glass and install it.

The OEM vent window includes outer window Frame. Any ideas how I can remove it?

I'd get the little window from a you-pull it junkyard out of a damaged door, then you'll see how it comes apart.

I had mine apart when I started disassembly for panel conversion, but that was 6 years ago now! Can't really remember EXACTLY how it comes apart, but it's not bad. The moving window and associated parts must come out first I believe, allowing the fixed panel to come out by angling it.

That info can help me Jeff. You say that only I need to pull the plastic trim and at the end the remaining of the rear window?

Here are GM's instructions. Basically if you have the tools to replace a windshield you are good.




• J 24402-A Glass Sealant Remover (Cold Knife)
• J 39032 Stationary Glass Removal Tool
• Use a urethane adhesive systems which meet GM Specification GM 3651G


Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Cracked Window Warning .

Note: Before cutting out a bodyside window, apply a double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces and the interior trim.

1. Open the liftgate.
2. Remove the rear quarter panel trim. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
Warning: Refer to Defroster Outlet Warning .
3. Cover the following parts to protect from broken glass:
• Upper dash pad
• Defroster outlets and A/C outlets
• Seats and carpeting
Warning: Refer to Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Warning .



Note: Keep the cutting edge of the tool against the window.

4. Remove the window from the urethane adhesive.
• Leave a base of urethane approximately 2 mm (0.078 in) on the pinch-weld flange.
• The only suitable lubrication is clear water.
• Use J 24402-A , J 39032 , or equivalent to remove the window.



5. With the aid of an assistant (2), remove the window (1) from the vehicle.

Pretty sure Zagohhr is talking about the little fixed vent window on the back passenger doors.
