Yeah, Officer is probably correct.....thermostat...9 times out of 10.

How is the engine temperature....both the analog gage on the dash AND the DIC temp. reading?

That's how mine was. Flat lined, and all lines on the digital read-out. a P0128 code will trigger both to appear as such.

Its reads around 180. Is it suppose to be low like around 45 when I start the car and go up? I actually watched it this morning, I guess Ive never watched before, dont know if thats normal. Oh and the check engine light went off today on my way home from work. So guess Ill see tomorrow...

I believe 180-190's are normal.. Our engines are suppose to run hot.. Optimum performance..

Lola- The temp reading when starting an overnight cold motor will read close to outside temps (since motor is that cold also).. Then running it warms up to operating temps. ie:

PS: In this colder weather, allow some warm up time for the motor.. Otherwise it is more vulnerable to cause a gasket leak. When you get up to operating temps then "drive it like ya stole it" ...

Exactly sleeper, our aluminum intensive engines appreciate a gentle touch until warmed up, then you can flog them. That's true of any engine, get some heat in the motor before you ask it to produce its full potential, make that a habit and your engine will last a good long time.

Yep, with the thermal expansion of the aluminum parts. The sealing of bolted together parts is best when at operating temps..
