Time for a new engine!

From ZZP's site,
When the engine is running in gear and at light throttle, bring it up to 4500rpm, then coast down to near idle(still in gear), then 5000, then 5500, then 6000, and 6500 each time letting it coast down to idle. This will help seat the rings. Then after a couple heat cycles, start running it under power.

Yes, 200 miles.
I'm going to tell them that they should make a note on the pages for these engines, that they hold more than 6 qts of oil. I've got nearly 7 in there to fill it. I would have bought 2 more qts of break-in oil if I had known.

Excellent. Happy Engine = long life engine. Filling a fresh built engine for 1st time will take the most oil, after that you never can drain every bit back out. Just saying..
Sounds like you got mostly break in oil in, & maybe a lil regular to top off. That'll work fine. But you already know that.

First oil change today. The Buick regal(actually an LHU engine) that this engine was made for has a 6.3 quart capacity, and that's what it took to refill. The 6-pack from Costco, plus a little more.

Cool RJ- & my youngest sister has a Buick Regal (2013 IIRC) with the 2.0 turbo. They have to put in over 6 qts of full syn in it as well.. That is the ticket. She loves that ride & the power of the engine. (she has a lead foot)..
