Mechanical thing wear and break at different intervals for different reasons. I stopped being surprised at anything wearing out or breaking prematurely back in the 70's.
The timing chain in my '66 Meteor S33, 289 V8 broke at 32,000 miles! Not a problem I wanted to swap in a 428 CJ Police Intercepter and C6 automatic anyways!
So this is why I've adapted the keep it clean (oil and filter) and drive it often, moto!!

Looking for help again. Changed all timing parts at 80,000 miles to fix timing chain rattle, car know has 110,000 miles and timing chain rattle is back again. What should I look at replacing first.

Did you change both chains?
Are you positive it is the chain making noise? Could it be the alternator, belt, water pump, belt tensioner, or the AC?

X2.

Plus you say it is a rattle coming from the recently replaced timing chain etc. - so pull the cover again and check it out.

Open it up, and at least confirm the status of the timing gear.

And the front guide could have failed or the retaining bolt , the upper one breaks.

Yes, replaced both chains and the chain is rattling between cams during cold starts only. I will pull valve cover off and take a look.

Since you are positive, I guess you should start with a new tensioner.

You guys are lucky to have Don here. He's like the best guys I work with in the MOPAR garages.

I walk out to just look at a vehicle, and they end up showing me a chafing wire harness that completely explains my warranty question. I wish more product engineers could work with good dealer techs. We could beat the world, but doing that ain't gonna happen most of the time. Engineers don't get out enough. I am working on that. But, thanks again, Don.

A tech can easily see that the harness routing is wrong, or not always right. I beat the drum to get it fixed. I might beat Engineers too, but I can't say that...

If the chain is rattling the top guide, change the chains
what brand chain kit did you use?
