You need new chains and guides.

It won’t, the chain is stretched or the front guide is worn or breaking.

I will get parts ordered, what can I do to keep this from happening again. I replaced all of these parts 30,000 miles ago.

Would you get upset if I suggested taking it to a mechanic? You haven't mentioned any OBD2 codes, just a rattle sometimes.

A loose chain would set a CEL.

BTW, the front of the engine is the passenger side

Not upset, looked at my post and I did not explain properly. I meant to say the part of the chain that is loose is toward the front of the car.

No check engine light, just rattle at cold start sometimes.

hen the rattle is probably something else like the air cleaner bracket is broken.

So a loose timing chain will cause a check engine light?
