tire sensor coming on and not showing

I have a 2008 HHR I think LS. I had the tire sensor icon come on and showed air pressure for three tires and for rf just had ---- dashed no number. I took it to where I had replacement tires put on a while ago they check air gage and added a bit. It seemed fine and then showed air pressure number but a week later the same thing is happening. Just wanted to ask if anyone else has had similar problems and what works best to resolve. Thanks!

The batteries in the valve stems last about ten years...

A. Did the tire positions get updated (procedure is in your Owner Manual) you can do that without special equipment other than an air source nearby; do it at a air pump.
B. Did they check all of the tires?
C. Maybe a battery wore out, but if the positions have not been reset you don;t know which one. The batteries have a 10 year life.
D. A shop with an advanced scanner should be able to diagnose the wheel sensors.

I'm not quite sure what that means. I did get a battery replaced about 1.5 year ago. Not sure about battery for tire sensors?
The tire positions did not get updated that I know of. Yes, they check all of the tires.
Thanks for your feedback. Is it best to take to tire store or dealership regard this problem?

dealership will rip you off more than a tire store will. If you don't need warranty or recall work there is no use for a dealership.

The tire sensors in each tire is connected to the valve stem, each sensor has an integral battery.

Do yourself a huge favor and read your Owner Manual. There is a link in my sig.

Just so you know.
There's a little emblem on the back of your car that will be either LS, LT or SS. (providing it hasn't fallen off)
If you're curious as to what model you have.

Getting the -- on one of mine. its either a weak / dying batter on the tps sensor or possibly a faulty sensor. It happens, and one by one they will need to be replaced eventually.
