343 miles on it and instead of new rotors they say GM requires them to resurface. Whatever. Took them all day. Hope it stops smooth now.

I had my rotors turned yesterday. Braking is smooth as silk now.

Won't be long for mine to be turned...maybe next thousand miles or so

I might just say the heck with it and put on aftermarket rotors and avoid the trips and downtime

As I understand it, IF the dealer did the rotor work EXACTLY as prescribed in the TSB, you should now have a reocurrance (90% probability). However, if they did the usual job, the rotor "wobble" will come back in 3000-6000 miles.

Not trying to rain on your parade, just giving you a heads up.

I've had mine surfaced twice under 20,000mi. I'm expecting once more under warranty.

Why do these HHR's tend to suffer from brake pulsation so often? The service dept guy said that in my case (see build date vs adoption date) the truck sat around enough to get some rust on the rotors but staying clean under the pads (while sitting) caused abnornmality during brake wear-in. 100 miles on it off the lot so it didn't get driven much during that sit around period.

When I had mine done yesterday, I asked the service advisor how many times GM would foot the bill for it, and he said they would do it until the end of the bumper to bumper warranty, as long as you follow the recommended brake maintenance.

I was thinking to myself "crap, I want those drilled and slotted rotors that Jeff is selling"

This is my 4th GM vehicle since 1998. They all had less than stellar rotors.

It's not just limited to GM though, pretty much all the OEM rotors are not that great.

HMM, I have 27K+ miles on mine. I drive with varying loads in cargo every other week. This is my daily driver and have not had any problems with the rotors or brakes. Perhaps the (build date vs adoption date) does make a big difference with regard to the rusting while sitting. I pre-ordered mine so it there was no sitting time.....
