Question Traction Control & Engine light

I have a 2006 HHR. It has under 64000 miles on it. Over the last year 1/2 I have had the traction control light come on and then the car shifts hard. This issue has happened twice before now, and always resolved itself on its own, and only lasted a day or so. Now it has been on and off for a few days and just tonight the engine light has also come on, and it's shifting hard again with the T/C light on.
I went to Advanced auto for a diagnosis. I got the code P0010 3 times, and the code C0561 ABS one time.
The latter also said "system disabled, info invalid". I was told the part needed was a "Crankshaft Position/Crank Angle Sensor". Can anybody verify this, and does anyone think someone who has done car work on his own could fix it ?
Any answers tonight would be greatly appreciated ! I am hoping to get this resolved tomorrow.

Here is a link that may help explain the P0010 code. OBD-II Trouble Code: P0010 "A" Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit (Bank 1)
You should also try typing "P0010" into the SEARCH box at the top center of this page, you will get the wisdom accumulated on the forum over the years. There are lots and lots of threads on the subject.

To begin with the people at Advance/AutoZone etc are only good for giving you the code NUMBERS, never believe any text that they provide with the number.

and here is a link to a reasonable explanation of what needs replacing with that p0010 code (and no, it is NOT the sensor the store told you) -

I wish the stores realized that "sensor" is NOT a "solenoid".

Upon sleeping on this post, I realize this is a 2006 we are talking about. They are different unless it is a 2.4L. So, more info is required!
