Traction Control light

Has anybody else had an issue with the TC light go on when driving on the highway. Then while the light is still on driving on city streets the transmission slams while changing gears. If I turn off the engine and wait 15 minutes, everything is fine.

Hopefully you will get an error code from the CEL - if the code is P0013 or P0014 the problem will be due to one of the Camshaft Postition Actuator Solenoids. Here is a link to the process to replace them - https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-tutorial-library-21/camshaft-position-actuator-solenoid-valve-replacement-w-pics-p0010-11-p0013-14-a-28779/

Cost of both solenoids is ~$100-$150 - and is a pretty simple job to replace (<1 hour).

I got this P0014 code today, checked the code listing on autozone and it said add or change oil or the solenoid. Added a quart and the code went away. Changing the oil tomorrow.... The 10,000 mile oil change for this car is BS... I got 142,000 miles gonna change it every 3,000 from now on.

The oil life reading on the DIC doesn't track oil amount.... You still need to check the dip stick. Not sure where you got the 10,000 mile number from, I don't think anyone stated "Ignore oil for 10K and then change it"..... Last change I got 7704 with 20% still reading on the DIC, I use full synthetic Pennzoil and check the oil when I fill up, just like the old days. No problems here.
