Transmission Fluid Leak
im getting a transmission fluid leak. added 3 quarts and its coming out of the pan. Looks like the gasket from the transmission pan blew, BUT it also looks like its coming from above the pan somewhere. can someone look at this video and tell me what they think also went bad? thankyou.

It appears to be coming from the starter area, are you sure it’s transmission fluid, engine oil could be leaking out of the oil pressure sending unit, or it could be the torque converter seal, if it is in fact transmission fluid

I'm on agreement with Oldblue. That does not look like tranny fluid.
It may be the oil pressure sending unit as the starter looks wet.
These tend to be a failure point but I have never seen one leak like that.
Please post year and engine size for further evaluations.
The transmision pan looks to be covered in residue from a different leak.

im pretty sure its tranny fluid but im no expert. my symptoms prior to this happening were the car would barely move after driving for more than 40 mins....when cold it would run fine. was driving the other day and it was running weak but i pressed it until i got home. smoke was coming from under the car. next day, i added 3 quarts of tranny fluid, turned on the car and looked underneath and thats what i saw. also it smelled like that steering fluid smell.

Looks like engine oil to me.
If the transmission fluid was that dark, it's burnt. If the fluid was burned up that bad, the transmission would most likely be shot.
Note: Check the oil filter cap. It may be cracked or loose. Anyone change the oil filter recently ?
