The parts store around here can not check trans codes. I did locate a trans shop that will do it, A-Able transmissions. Said I would have to drop it off because full diagnostics would take a while, and won't charge anything for diagnostics. mmmmmm.

Looks like you are right Chevy Mgr, Just got back from having dealer look at it. Could not find anything electrical or external. They would have to tear trans down and then give me a price depending on what they find, $250.00 tear down price, then repairs, OUCH!! I wish he could have given me some kind of price range. I am looking for replacement from local salvage yards. Does someone know what other GM vehicles would have trans that could replace?

Had local transmission shop check transmission. The only code that came up was for engine misfire. He told me that it is shifting into OD but torque convertor is not locking up. He is 90% sure bad lock up switch or bad torque convertor. He is not able to get to it and not real interested in getting into this transmission anway becase he never worked on this one before. I don't have a problem with taking transmission off but not sure how difficult it is to change lock up switch or if special tools are needed.
