tsb numbers for rotor shield and radiator shield
here are the tsb numbers for rotor shields 08-05-23-003, and for the radiator shield 08-06-02-001. my dealer knew about the rotor shields but didnt seem aware of the radiator. dealer said they were going on their own and putting the rotor shields on all new hhrs that they got in. he ordered me the radiator shield. seems stupid that gm wouldnt put an inexpensive shield on car to prevent costly repair of the radiator.
dealer said he felt rotor shields prevented a lot of problems

If you don't mind me asking what is the rotor shield? What is it's purpose and where/how does it mount?
If heard/read about the plastic radiator shield for the lower bumper opening but have yet to hear about the rotor shield you mentioned.

it is a piece(I think metal)that goes behind rotor to protect it from dust and dirt.they must not have designed the area to protect the rotors from getting unusually dirty. it took them 2 hours to put them on but they also did more than they needed to do in order to satisfy the tsb.

paying for shield
it hasnt come in yet. I dont intend to pay but we will see. I told the shop manager that they could justify it since when they repainted the rear panels they(GM) said I was driving on rough, stoney roads...Ill let you know what happens when it arrives. It is pretty stupid to wait until a stone causes a major repair to put on a cheap piece of plastic.
