Did they check or replace the engine mounts?

Not to my knowledge, but I will point them in that direction next.

Another thing to consider is a failing torque converter in the transmission, they can produce some nasty harmonic vibrations.

Well, I called the dealer to ask them to check out the motor mounts and Torque converter. I was a little surprised to hear, "I'm sorry, we are no longer aloud to spend anymore time or money fixing your vibration issue. The GM rep drove your car after we replaced your tires and drive shafts and said that the vibration you are now feeling is perfectly normal and you is well within driving specifications for your HHR."

Needless to say, I'm a bit pissed off.

Just a question, how did they tested them? I remember I had these annoying situation about 8 months ago. First, I checked the hub bearings turning/spining the wheels, and no sounds, everything apparently ok. I replace Driver side axle, tie rods, allignment, etc etc etc... Then, I decided to make and exhaustive analisys part by part by myself. I removed from the axle first the hub bearing from the driver side. I heard a slight screeching noise but I didnīt take care. After, I removed the passengerīs side and BINGO!!! I heard a #&")$=?( Screeching, really annoying when I turn it. Itīs noticeable that the noise just appeared when I removed the Hub bearing. I replaced it, and no more issues

To let you know, the sympthoms that I had was a Vibration on the front end, more noticeable everytime that I make a turn to the left. If I went on a straight way, and a difference of the surface level, it happen to.

I Hope that my info helps you.

Perhaps the fault goddamn stretcher. Another - test attachment LOWER CONTROL ARMS and ball joints.
Remember how the vibration started. What events preceded it. Will probably be an idea.
Shaking his car with a friend or neighbor. Shake vigorously, the car should hang out like a boat in a storm. Listened attentively, even better - third person look at the suspension. The problem may reveal itself - do you see or hear something.

Dear bjall4jc,

I have read your post about your situation with your HHR. Could you please provide me with your case number? I would like to look into this for you. Please, keep in mind that I can't promise anything, but I will do my best to look into this for you.

HeHe . Zago can drive his HHR with no front wheels? Usually , noise/vibration whilst turning suggests axle CV bearings. Glad you solved it tho.

I would have to say that first your rear shocks should be replaced as thier is a specific TSB for vibrations pertaining to the HHR and the fix is to replace the rear shocks, the stock Sachs shocks on the HHR are absolute garbage, you could easily do this job yourself for well under $100. Second, without load testing a hub assembly off of the car, it can be hard to say whether they are good or bad. Just because they don't make any noise means nothing. I would say the rear shocks and hub assemblies need to be replaced and then if the vibrations are still there it could be an out of balance front axle, again something almost impossible to diagnose with the part in the car or a torque converter or tranmission issue.
