You're still under warranty, right?
Yup, only 16xxx miles. Just hoping they don't try to blame it on all the mods I've done.

And before anyone chips in with the Magnuson Warranty Act, I know all about it and from my own first hand experience, it don't mean **** if the dealer is not willing to do the work. I went through all this with my audio system last year. Short of getting a lawyer, you're still screwed if they don't wanna do the work.

I don't see how any mod could seize up a compressor. Unless the pulleys were changed to under-drive type or something, then they could probably try to contest covering it.

It's normal to smell smoke, you've got flames on your HHR

Sorry to see that Mike...but a bad compressor should be a quick change and Bob will be back on the roads.

If the truck hadn't matched your car so well, would you have sent it back for another one?

Might be one of the bad '06 compressors. I've been thinking about getting my car in for the replacement before the extended warranty deductible kicks in, but I don't know if I'll have time. Sure would hate to be in the middle of nowhere when the growl turns into a sudden stop.

I really wish they'd put a failsafe mode on those relays to release the clutch if the compressor locks up instead of burning the belt.
