I'm wondering about this same thing too Is there some connection between the whining sound (That's supposed to be fixed by replacing a tube of some sort?) and the A/C actually seizing up? Or are they two separate problems?

HHR is home and once again blowing COLD!!!

Don't know, or really care, what was the cause. Repair was under warranty.

I had not noticed any of the symptoms others are mentioning. Just stopped blowwing cold air, that's the only warning I had.

Did they notice your HHR did not look like any that they've seen before?

From the runaround the service dept. gave you, I would think you should look for another GM dealer the NEXT time something happpens.

Mike, I'm happy to hear your out of the heat and Bob is safe at home. Take a deep breath and keep that blood preasure down, we don't want you blowing any hoses, and let me know if you want the service writer knee capped.
