Warranty Work
So I get my recall notice in the mail a while back. I make an apt. while I'm getting my oil changed and tires rotated. They say they'll call when the parts get in. Three months go by, was going to schedule recall on next oil change anyways, and no call. So I stop by the dealership to schedule apt. for key sticking in ignition problem and oil change. Ask about parts and was told they were put in PC but never shipped. I was going out of town and leaving car there for two days, he said he guarantees parts will be there and on when I come back. I go home and go shopping, when I lift the tailgate I here something rolling around inside of it. I call my dealership and add that on to other work and he informs me the reason they didn't call was because parts for recall were in stock. So they couldn't call me and tell me that? Came back from vacation and picked up car, my service advisor was on vacation. Here's the conclusion:
1) Key sticking in ignition---- Lost signal between shifter and solenoid. Replace Shifter Control Assembly.
2) Tailgate noise--- Broken lift gate trim panel retainers. R&R lift gate trim and replace retainers.
Questions to all.
What or how would these retainers break and is this common?
Does this advisor sound right or just BSing me?
How does one get these surveys from GM? I have never seen or received one ever from my dealership.
End of my novel. THE END!!
