water leaks
Anyone have a problem with water getting into the rear cargo area? Our 2009 HHR only has 25K miles on it.....this problem just surfaced. Thanks.https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif

Same rear cargo area leak
I have a 2009 HHR and also have leak in the rear cargo area. In heavy rain, mine drips from the rear roof area where the rear upper trim meets the driver side rear trim. It drips right where the two pieces of trim join together. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Al

Yes I have both a sun roof and a rear spoiler. The drip comes from the seam area where the two pieces of trim come together. The first piece of trim goes along the rear roof area just below the headliner, width wise across the rear cargo area. its connects to trim on both the driver and passenger sides just below the headliner. There is a seam on both sides where the trim pieces meet. My drip comes from the rear driver side area. I took some photos of the area but can't figure out how to attach it. Thanks for your help. Al

I think you might have a leaking weather strip around the hatch, two quick ways to confirm or eliminate it.
1. Have a helper or lovely assisant sit back there while you play a strong stream of water on the area with a garden hose.
2. Take a new dollar bill, or any new bill, and place it in various locations while you close the hatch. If the weather strip is sealing properly, you should feel significant resistance when you try to pull it out, if it slips right out that's usually where your leak is.
Other possibilities are the holes where the spoiler mounts, and possibly blocked sunroof drains.
Here's a thread on posting photos and how to do it.....
