Grrrr

Well they called me this morning and said my car was ready. So I went and picked it up, Carpet and floormat looked grungy, passenger seat now has brown stains on it, thy are refusing to replace the carpet. Well to beat it all i took it home and parked it in the driveway, took out my trusty water hose and sprayed water up in the air and let it hit the windshield, and lo and behold, Still leaking.... I called them and took it back in, I wanted to talk to the quy that was working on it to tell him to check the cowl area and it needed to be on an upward slope. but they acted like i didn;t know what i was talking about ... I got it to leak and they said they had never seen any leak...
NEXT TIME IT WILL BE THE OWNER OF THE DEALERSHIP!!!

New Carpet

I spoke to the owner of the dealership today and she offer me new carpet if I have anymore water problems. A good gesture, but a day late and a dollar short. They should have done that the day they "fixed" my leak. We will see what happens. So far since my boat has been plugged it has stopped raining. I just will have to wait and see if it sinks again.

Fixed

Well I got my car back, this time it is fixed... seems like they found a leak in the cowl seal....imagine that... this time they gave the carpet nd the seat a good cleaning, and they even washed it for me... Shock shock...
Well I am happy so i got my brushed aluminum dash kin installed along with the Chrome door cups. all i have left to do is get the tailgate fixed from my accident nd she will be as good as new!
Thanks everyone for all the great info on where to look for the leak. This is a GREAT forum... Now I can't wait to get my Steering wheel radio controls....

Question, for those of us who are in a drought area and have not had much rain since they purchased there vehicle. If I get the garden hose out, where are the areas you would wet down good and hard to test for leaks?

Thanks for the pictures identifying the Sunroof drain holes. I looked a few times and did not see them, but now I do.

Park your HHR on a upward slope, and just spray water up in the air and let it hit on the winshield like rain, If you have a leak like mine it will show up then, water will drip from the right lower corner of the dashboard.

The cowl leak from what they told me was under the plastic cover at the base of the windshield. Exactly where i do not know but I would assume it is where two panels (maybe the firewall and header panel) join there.
