Glad you were able to find the cause of the leak.
Maybe a little glue or sealer to make sure it doesn't come apart again.

I used silicon on tubing connection , but mostly just had to undo all the bracket clamps from back corner . Think body shop that did repairs several years ago didn't get it quite right so it wasn't in far enough . Had smelled musty several times and I couldn't find any moisture . Think during our unusually hot summer the tubes got soft enough to pull apart maybe when we hit a hard bump . And when big rains hit it was dumping water all across headliner , pooling on passenger side floor . Almost have it back together . Should finish up tomorow , with rain following the next day .

Update , went out to car after record rains and I have water on floor of passenger side rear seat . And no moisture along edge of headliner or anywhere I can find as to where it is coming from . As a side note , battery was flat . Think moisture corroded the negative battery terminal . Charged it up after cleaning , so far so good there . No idea when I will have time to look into it too much , possibly try and check the right rear downspout . Record rains and winds make it a little more challenging . May have to kick motor home out of it's carport .

I have the same thing going on. It rained a lot a over Christmas break and I am still dealing with the carpet being stained. I had to run a fan to dry it out. Also the passenger front floor got wet too. the back was a puddle...
I need to fix it. So, any tips at where to look? there's a mention of a drain...

Thanks

If the answers are not in this 42 page thread try SEARCH term "butyl patch".

Sorry, and it was so simple blowing out the sunroof drains.

Sunroof rear drain ports

Of course if you don't know by now the HHR has several areas where leaks are know from the blunt patch up front on the passenger side windshield area to the sunroof. I live in the northeast area where we have to deal with leaves and debris from the trees. I have been noticing I would have to clean out the drains every year. There are 2 drain holes up front that you can see when the sunroof is down and the other 2 are at the back section where the sunroof goes down in to the roof. The drains are really hard to get to and the only way was to drop the rear section of the headliner. I have a couple picture of the 2 drain tubes and if you see in the pictures where there are brown rubber connector where it attaches to the drain and the tubes that go back to the spare tire area. I have not seen any picture of this but hopefully this helps anyone trying to fix the leak.

I'M BAAAACK!! '06 HHR LT

Damn if I don't have a new water ingress, this time front passenger floor, pooled with water!
Just noticed a few days ago, have not had time (or cooperative weather) to inspect further. Car sat unused, parked nose uphill, for quite a while (week or two?). Had a very cold snap, with a little snow, followed by freezing rain. Upon getting back in the car, found a pretty large pool of water under the soaked floor mat, passenger side. Nothing in the rear, nor any wetness noted on interior panels or headliner.

Damn! Stay tuned I guess........
